Like any other education setting or workplace, at Walney School we are fully aware that although infrequent, bullying can and does happen. We would like to make sure that staff, students and parents have a common understanding of what bullying is, how to report it and how it will be dealt with. It is important to us to educate students about bullying and its effects, to take allegations of bullying seriously and to deal with bullying in the most timely and effective way possible.
Tuesday 9th May 2023 marked the beginning of a collaborative piece of work looking at the anti-bullying ethos of Walney School. We invited staff, students, parents, governors and business partners to an ANTI BULLYING CONFERENCE, which took place in the school hall from 3.30-5.00pm.
During the conference all teachers, teaching assistants, students including School Council representatives, partners, governors and parents worked together to sharing their views on how bullying is currently taught, reported and dealt with at Walney School and shared their ideas for further improvement.
